Film title- "Viva La Miscreant"
In our focus group we had to pitch our film for the whole 30 minute extract, rather than just the 3 minutes we're going to be filming and we had to also mention what will be shown in our 3 minute extract and why we as a group have decided these shots. Also in our film pitch we had to discuss about our film name, our tagline, other movies created by the institution we have chosen, we had to speak about the audience group we have chosen and why it best fits into that category. Once we had finally pitched our film we gave the focus group an opportunity to ask questions, any improvements we needed to make our production much more better as well as understandable and find more about our films reasoning.Between the four people in our group we explained to the focus group each element of the film and our choices for it. Here are a few quotes from the focus group:
- good use of film name and great choice of it being foreign
- don't need to film in a tunnel, as it might be hard for the audience to see whats going on.
- you have chosen an Italian gang how are you going to act it out.
- are you going to be speaking different languages
- i think that the tagline is good because it links a lot to the film extract
- good story line and plot i think it will be easy for the audience to understand whats going on in the film
- you need a voice over in a film noir
- speak to Italian department
- "Don't try to be too ambitious with the mafia gang conventions"
- "What is the connection between the Spanish title and the Italian mafia gangs?"
- "In your tagline, try not to mention the protagonist's name"
- "Structure of the story definitely sounds interesting and I look forward to it"
- "Ideas and connections of modern UK gang life could definitely relate to this film"
After our film pitch from out focus group will be taking many feedback and suggestions into consideration, as it will develop our idea and the different ways it will appeal to our audience. For example; the idea of changing the name of the film being Spanish and then making our characters Italian. We have to try make it the same otherwise it wouldn't add up and might come across as being confusing. Also, the tagline will remain 'You can run but you can't hide' because it links a lot tho our film plot and its catchy. Furthermore, in context and with the art house genre we think it works quite well. Furthermore, something else that needs to be addressed is the role of women in our film extract we choose to not add any females in but since its an art house film we might need to have both male and female.
The target audience that we have chosen for our film extract will from 15 till 25. This is because our film extract involves strong language and many violent scenes which isn't appropriate for young teenagers. furthermore, we estimate our percentage of male and female to be 70% male and 30% female, this mainly because this film extract has lots of action scenes, which would mainly target men more than women. Considering that the film has mixed ethnicity, it will appeal to all ethnicity groups.
